Pro Talent Group is searching for experienced and dependable Journeyman Millwright candidates for a large manufacturing company near Harriman, TN to start immediately. This is a 6 month, temp-to-hire opportunity!

Job Duties: Journeyman Millwright

  • Position will be maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of electrical systems, apparatus, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment;
  • Journeyman Millwright candidates will be Installing new machines and equipment by installing power supply wiring and conduit to and between machines and equipment; using hand tools, test equipment, schematics, and prints;
  • Repairing electrical systems and equipment by diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures; determining faulty wiring; inspecting and testing malfunctioning machinery;
  • Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine electrical preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance;
  • Repairs and replaces faulty electrical components by using testing equipment and hand tools to install relays, switches, motors, printed circuit boards, and position-sensing devices;
  • Programs automated machinery by operating, testing for malfunctions, and verifying repairs to robots, robot controllers, and programmable controllers;
  • Maintains electrical equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies; places orders and verifies receipt;
  • Prepares electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends;
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery;
  • Operate equipment in conjunction with repairs and provide assistance in operation functions as necessary to keep equipment running;
  • May work alone, with minimal supervision, or work with other Maintenance Technicians;
  • Troubleshoot and repair general circuits with a schematic and volt ohm meter;
  • Checks for and verifies bad motor with megger or v.o.m.;
  • Works on 3 phase motor system (connection – start/stop circuits);
  • Checks and sets up circuits with oscilloscope;
  • Works with variable frequency drives and PLCs;
  • Reads, understands and interprets flow charts, schematics, and blueprints;
  • Operate steam cleaner to clean work areas and equipment;
  • Utilize hand and power tools safely ;
  • Accurately complete company records, forms, and other types of documentation;
  • Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner

Successful Journeyman Millwright candidates will be able to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments, including very hot, cold and/or noisy surroundings, at heights, and on catwalks, including see-through metal gratings. Work environment includes exposure to different types of industrial working conditions. Candidates must have the physical ability to perform essential job duties and successfully pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam. A valid driver’s license is required to operate mobile equipment.

Basic Qualifications: Journeyman Millwright

  • Minimum 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma, GED or equivalent;
  • Must be able to past validated Electrical Test;
  • At least 1 year of industrial electrical maintenance experience;
  • Able to work a rotating shift, weekends, and holidays;
  • Journeyman Millwright candidates must be able to climb, lift up to 50 pounds from ground level to chest level, bend, and operate heavy equipment;
  • Basic computer skills;
  • Ability to work scheduled overtime;
  • Experience with AC/DC controls and drives, automation systems and sensors, motor controls and maintenance;
  • Knowledge of PLCs;
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code.

Preferred Qualifications: Journeyman Millwright

  • Completion of a vocational technical training or apprentice program in electrical discipline;
  • Journeyman Millwright candidates to have overhead crane electrical experience;
  • Ability to install (including conduit bending and wiring installation), troubleshoot, and repair or adjust various types of electronic, electrical, mechanical, combustion, instrumentation or control systems, and related equipment is preferred.
