Position: Mailroom Clerk

Schedule: M-F from 8 am to 5 pm

Pay: Starting at $12 / hour

Job Description: Mailroom Clerk

This role is responsible for supporting the work environment for all internal employees through the effective, hands-on implementation of facility services. In addition, this role has primary responsibility for the mail room. This individual interacts with senior management, clients, employees, outside vendors and the landlord’s property management teams. This role requires the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and can shift from desk work to hands on troubleshooting.

Primary Responsibilities: Mailroom Clerk

  • Organize and direct the necessary repairs and/or installation of facilities needs with external vendors and property management;
  • Coordinate internal service requests with landlord/contractors and ensure timely completion;
  • Escort vendors and contractors and ensure they comply with Company security policy and work performance requirements;
  • Conduct regular inspection of work spaces and make appropriate recommendations for repairs or troubleshoot as directed;
  • Serve as a security associate point of contact;
  • Assist with clean desk and access audits, floor warden training and evacuation drills, media disposal, and complete monthly physical security checklist;
  • Handle facility-related deliveries and distribution of office supplies;
  • Daily checks and restocking of kitchen, supply rooms, conference rooms, copiers;
  • Coordinate and handle the incoming and outgoing mail and packages;
  • Use mail equipment including a mail machine, inserter/folder, and letter opener;
  • Use a computer to create and complete reports, lists, and manage inventory;
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned.

Experience: Mailroom Clerk

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in this capacity;
  • Mail room and facility support experience desired;
  • Have experience working with mail equipment including a mail machine, inserter/folder and letter opener;
  • Have working knowledge of US Postal Services mailing services such as Certified Mail, PO Box Caller Services;
  • Experience using FedEx and UPS overnight shipping services;
  • Have working understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word;
  • Must know how to save documents to folders, add documents to emails, how to edit documents sent in emails and how to move electronic documents from one drive or folder to another;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and be a self-starter with initiative to identify and resolve issues.
