JOB DESCRIPTION

: Refrigeration – PSM Coordinator

SUMMARY

The PSM Coordinator organizes and maintains the Process Safety Management (PSM) program for the ammonia refrigeration systems, equipment, and personnel. The PSM Coordinator ensures compliance with PSM and Risk Management Plan (RMP) and all federal, state, and local regulations. As a result, he/she will review system altering capabilities or processes prior to implementation. Furthermore, the PSM Coordinator organizes and provides PSM mandated training to all applicable associates and contractors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • · Quality, demonstrates behaviors in support of quality work processes to include, documentation & specifications to meet the quality standards
  • · Continuous Improvement: Actively support our Performance System-CPS. Experience in a High-Performance Work Systems; 5’s, working in teams, problem solving, six sigma, TPM, training, continuous skills development-CSD, auditing, planned and/or autonomous maintenance-AM
  • · Follow and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
  • · Work closely with other Planners, Maintenance and Refrigeration Technicians and PM Lead in the development of Daily Maintenance Systems (DMS)
  • · Manage and schedule PSM trainings for confined space, Hazmat and Hot Work and other programs
  • · At the end of the shift secure all equipment, complete paperwork and perform general housekeeping duties. Must have exceptional organizational skills.
  • · Create customer service and satisfaction climate
  • · Lead monthly PSM meetings and attend as scheduled additional departmental meetings
  • · The ability to interact effectively and professionally with coworkers and contractors
  • · All other duties as assigned
  • · Be able to perform all skills as outlined on the Skills Element Tree

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

  • · Experience working with refrigeration systems
  • · Working knowledge of MS Excel Access
  • · Proficient electrical, Mechanical, communication, math, and computer skills
  • · High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred:

  • · Associates degree in related field
  • · Experience with PSM associated with ammonia refrigeration
  • · Refrigeration Engineers Technician Association (RETA) certification
  • · OSHA certification
  • · Formal planner training or experience
  • ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • · Sit, stand, walk and climb stairs during time on duty
  • · Ability to withstand walking, lifting, bending, stooping, climbing ladders, walking on roofs and working in confined spaces
  • · Ability to work in various weather conditions
  • · Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and technical specifications
  • · Ability to read and understand complex regulatory requirements
  • · Ability to conform to all OSHA, PSM, HAZMAT and other safety programs and regulations
  • · Ability to learn and understand OSHA Emergency Response requirements
  • · Ability to communicate effectively
  • · Ability to read, write and perform basic math
  • · Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • · Lift/Carry/Push/Pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally
